Dallas Symphony Orchestra


The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) is an American orchestra situated in Dallas, Texas. Its chief performing setting is the Meyerson Symphony Center in the Arts District of downtown Dallas. 


In 2007, Jaap van Zweden was named the DSO's fifteenth music chief, and started his residency in the 2008–2009 season with an underlying agreement of four years. In October 2009, the orchestra reported the expansion of van Zweden's agreement through the 2015–2016 season. In November 2013, the orchestra reported a further expansion of van Zweden's agreement through 2019.In January 2016, the orchestra declared the rescheduled finish of van Zweden's residency as music executive after the 2017–2018 season, at which point he is to turn into the orchestra's director laureate for the period 2018–2021.
